Detecting myasthenia gravis as a cause of unclear dysphagia with an endoscopic tensilon test
2021
The flexible endoscopic evaluation of swallowing-tensilon test (FTT) is a useful diagnostic tool for detecting myasthenia gravis (MG) in patients with unclear pharyngeal dysphagia. The FTT showed excellent diagnostic accuracy, with a sensitivity of 88.2% and a specificity of 95.9%. It provided immediate results and performed comparably to serum antibody tests, outperforming repetitive nerve stimulation. The FTT can be used routinely for rapid and accurate diagnosis of MG in patients with dysphagia.
