Autoantibodies to lipoprotein-related protein 4 in patients with double-seronegative myasthenia gravis
2012
This study further proves that anti-Lrp4 autoantibodies do cause MG. Out of 120 patients without Achr or MUSK antibodies, 11 patients (approximately 9.2%) had antibodies to Lrp4 whereas none of the healthy control subjects had Lrp4 antibodies. The samples tested with anti-Lrp4 antibodies proved to cause dysfunction at the neuromuscular junction, causing MG.
